The PACKRAT was more predictive of the PANCE than the OSCE. Conclusion: Both the PACKRAT and OSCE scores were predictive of PANCE scores. The OSCE scores accounted for 19% of variance in PANCE PACKRAT and PANCE, with 58% of variance in PANCE scores being accounted for by the Linear regression revealed a significant relationship between the OSCE and PANCE scores were alsoĬorrelated, but to a lesser degree. PANCE scores were shown to be highly correlated. PACKRAT II, OSCE I, and OSCE II to predict the PANCE score. Logistic regression was used to assess the capability of PACKRAT I, PANCE, OSCE I and PANCE, and OSCE II and PANCE using linear models to determine how ![]() The identified set ofĮxplanatory variables include PACKRAT I, PACKRAT II, OSCE I, OSCE II, and PANCE scores.Ĭorrelation analysis was conducted comparing PACKRAT I and PANCE, PACKRAT II and Methods: The study data used in this investigation were collected on 84 WSU PA Program graduates of 20 who have taken the PANCE. What Im saying is that we are 2 weeks away from graduation and most of us have our PANCE date already set. As per googled information, a 111 on the packrat equates to a passing score of 350 on the PANCE. OSCE are being used for this purpose, it is imperative to know the predictive value of these exams We have already taken the PACKRAT, next is the PANCE, weve been studying all along. Include exams such as the PACKRAT and the OSCE. Several methods to evaluate students and prepare students to take the PANCE. Graduate from an accredited program and pass the PANCE. In order to become a licensed physician assistant one must You are better off pushing the PANCE back a few weeks and passing instead of failing it and getting stuck for 3 months and hundreds of dollars. The purpose of this study was to compare the Physician AssistantĬlinical Knowledge Rating and Assessment Tool (PACKRAT) and the Objective StructuredĬlinical Examination (OSCE) as predictors of performance on the Physician Assistant NationalĬertifying Examination (PANCE). Before you graduate, they are responsible for remediating you. Think of it this way - once you graduate, you are no longer the program's problem and they need not do a thing to help you. If you have a bad PACKRAT score you need to do something about it or you will not pass the PANCE. You are taking the PACKRAT "against" the same people you are taking the PANCE against. On the other hand, your program hopefully has your best interests at heart. At the same time, this is also not the way that the PAEA intended the PACKRAT to be used. My school will not allow us to graduate if we do not "pass" the packrat exam as well. Hope I gave a better explanation this time. what I'm asking is if this is legal to do? We will have already graduated and just in a holding pattern to take our PANCE after graduation. Now, because of this year's high PACKRAT average, our school has informed us that until we get within 6 points of 167, they will redact our release to take the PANCE. The PACKRAT was supposed to be an exit exam. What I'm saying is that we are 2 weeks away from graduation and most of us have our PANCE date already set. I think you may have misunderstood so I'll try to add more info! We have already taken the PACKRAT, next is the PANCE, we've been studying all along. This will all be over soon enough. Schools want you to pass if you don't they look bad.Īs a practical matter, if passing the PACRAT isn't in the documentation for completion, I suspect they might have to call you done whether you pass it or not and thus you would be able to take the PANCE.
